I would leave it alone. All the guys I know say it'll be a headache and cost big bucks. You would have been better off buying a bike with a big engine. If you do the work yourself at least it'll be cheaper and done right. Customs are taking a beating on E-Bay so there are good deals to be had. You won't recoup that cost if you decide to sell. Good luck with whatever you decide.

yeah, you can't possibly have more than 5000 miles on that 96".. why not just build that one up? For ~$1200 if you do the work yourself you can put a 107" kit in there, or for less money send your heads out for porting and put a new set of cams in there. The 96" is a good engine that when done right can make some good power on it's own..

Honestly though it's your bike, so you do whatever you'd like.. and if the 126" is where you want to go, then to actually answer your question, no I don't know anyone who has done this before.. but within the next few months I'm getting ready to help my neighbor rebuild is 88" into an S&S 106", so i'll let you know.

Sounds like a complete waste on a 2011. You'd be better off selling the Fat Boy (or keeping it as a second bike) and building a bike yourself with the setup you want. Or at least get something used that's much older than a 2011 and replace it. Just my opinion.

I agree. That's a waist of an almost new motorcycle. Get an old 'project bike' if you're going to do a lot of custom work.

I'll never understand this kind of thinking. There is a reason I have a Vmax and a Fatboy. Perhaps not as cool as a HD but faster than 99.99% of em out there.

Good luck.

I do understand the thinking. I don't want a V Max or a Busa, but like the OP, I like a bit more steam.

However, I'd get a new bike with a 120R in it and call it quits.

I agree with building up the engine that is already in it.

it's basically a brand new bike! I would build up the engine you have as others have suggested.
