I put mine on the wall in the garage for decoration along with the old CJ-7 grill and 67 chevy tailgate..makes pretty artwork...lol.... Like someone said they are useless to most people anyways.
Mine are taking up space in my garage floor.. in the same boat. Put an ad in here to sell them cheap.. no real bites. For the guys that maybe just want to do some nice slip-on's, they'd make a good set.. but yeah the stock exhaust is typically the first thing to hit the floor when guys start customizing. It's a shame, there's a lot of nice welds and workmanship in them. Svc manager at the dealer quoted me the price for a direct replacement.. you wouldn't believe it. I bought my 04 fatboy with VH big shot shorts then hated them so much I traded out for a set of SE fatboy shotgun stocks they had in the warehouse. Then got a steal on a set of rineharts, so now I've got the stocks.. If I ever got just sick and tired of the rineharts, I'd consider some cool slip-ons, however, can't do the shotguns with the big bags I've got coming.. so there I am again.
Put them in the attic like I did, because if the EPA ever clamps down, you're going to need them.
I agree with "Chops" if we need to pass EPA emissions standards in the future, we will have to slap that old exhaust back on each year to go to DMV and then put the hight performance set back on for the rest of the year.
The salvage shops a full of brand new stock pipes, floor to ceiling stacks, that they can't sell for $10 a set. These are the pipes the folks take off at the dealerships and give the stock sets to the dealer telling him to get rid of them.
Mine are boxed up in my attic and will sit there for a few years.
Just IN Case WAS My Case
I saved them when I changed out too V&H longshots KN filter and PCIII
and then It happened My PC went bad DynaJet told me about a week turnaround then there is Mailing it back and forth So to keep my bike up and running I took everything off and went back too stock
Glad I kept them
I have kept mine and in fact everything I have taken off. I figure if I hold on to all this some day 10- 20 years down the line it will be worth more being a 100th anniversary bike that could be brought back to stock if one wanted to. Well minus the gear driven cams.....[8D]
Mine are hanging on the garage wall bolted together as a set, but now I'm looking at this bare wall in my computer room and getting ideas. Hmmm[sm=confused06.gif]
