Default New 2012 fat boy low

Going to get vivid black with abs/security option. also adding stuff that totals about $2K. Looking for any experience feedback on pricing for 2012's. Am I likely to be able to negotiate something below MSRP, or will the dealers go MSRP all the way?

Well I didn't have too much luck getting it lower then MSRP... you gotta remember this is a 2012.. these don't stay on the floor very long.. they might be persuaded to get the 2011's out the door at a lower price but not the 2012's.

After taxes, tags and alarm mine came out to about 20K.. of course my Denim Black is also about $700 to $800 more then your Vivid Black because Vivid is the standard color and Denim is considered an "add-on".

I asked if there was any benefits for being Military also and that was just for the Overseas program, not locally at dealers. So even that didn't help lower the 2012 any.. I would just make sure they're not going any higher then MSRP and you'll get what the majority of us pay.

Seems a little early to be getting great deals on the 2012's. I suppose it can be done. Or someone will claim they did.

Even if you can't get close to MSRP, ask for incentives..like 15% off accessories for a year, some free tshirts, the 1k and 5k mile services included..stuff like that which are just expenditures anyways

I was told by a harley salesman to by at the end of the month because their under some pressure to make their monthly quota you have a better chance at a better deal or a least better incentives

Thx Jim. Ya know, I was thinking about the service angle and wondered...being the paranoid person I am...if I got it included would the cut corners at service time to recoup some $$. Then the other side of me said that it likely doesn't matter becuase little if anything is a problem during the first two service periods.

honestly the 1k and 5k services are so easy that you can do them at home if you have the equipment.. there's not many corners to cut, and even if they actually did "cut" any of them, if something goes wrong, you take it back to them and tell them they Effed it up, then get it fixed for free

In late 2010 i paid 18k out the door. The 1K service was free. I also got 10% off for a year. Mine has the Chrome wheels, security and the special paint.

UPDATE...
I wasn't optimistic given the feedback here. But all I can say is WOW, I was shocked. Deal is done. Got it done for $2,520 below MSRP with a $500 dealer gift certificate thrown in. Approached 4 dealers and they kept fighting for the sale. So, anyone that's holding off on a 2012 because they don't think they're dealing...get out there...they are in fact dealing.

Yes they are dealing. I got my 2012 RoadKing below MSRP with a generous gift card and no fees.
This is a fuked up economy and they want to move bikes now.
They have plenty of wiggle room now on the 12s so walk away from the deal and make them fight for your business.
Get pre-approved and it will help big time because the dealer will be less likely to let you walk out the door and lose the sale to another dealer.
