could someone please tell me the tallest apes you can put on a 2006 harley fatboy without having to extend cables

I needed new everything including Wiring Harness for T/S switches, starter and other electrical and I just did 12 inch apes.

but was wondering if it is everything that i need?
i mean do you still have to reheatshrink wires and all how hard is it to do?
