Default 2012 Harley Heritage Classic Deal

In the process of owning my 1st Harley. My question is that I've been given (what I think) a hell of a deal on a 2012 Heritage Classic with ABS + Security Package ($1195 option). Was quoted an Out The Door price of $20,700 for Black or $21k for White. Dealer is also throwing in EITHER $1500 Cash off the bike or $2k in accessory trade.

Looking for advice on which deal is better + the which color (was told the black is better for re-sale + the white looks pretty slick, but may to too girly).

Also, the bike doesn't have the white wall tires. Just the solid black.

I know it's all personal preference, just looking for thoughts!

Thanks for you time/thoughts.

First, congrats on the bike. Personally, I prefer black. I had 2 blue Dynas and got tired of the color (yeah, shoulda figure that out before I bought the 2nd one). Last 2 have been black and never got tired of that. Don't pick your color based on resale though, get the one you really like. The only really girly Harley I have seen is Peg's of this forum. Personally, I would take the 1,500 off, but I already have all the gear I need. Leathers, rainsuits, gloves, helmets etc can add up quickly. If you don't have that stuff, the store credit might be worth it. Try not to get too caught up in buying a bunch of bling. Get the bike, ride it and ease into it. 99% of the HD riders (me included) get caught up into buying a bunch of chrome skulls, or flames, or something and if they stick with it for awhile, they outgrow it. Those are my thoughts, but to each his own. Good luck with your purchase and welcome to the club.

Default Tough Decisions

These are very personal decisions, but here is some food for thought:
1. Everyone loves a black Harley, and Vivid Black is cheaper and more popular than other paint colors. After saying that, I personally do not like having black cars or bikes because I don't do a good job keeping my vehicles super clean and I don't like seeing swirls and fine scratches in my paint. White is more unique and easier to maintain, and most HD lovers don't think white is girly unless the white is surrounded by pink. I own a silver Fat Boy Lo for the reasons I mentioned above, but I think nothing looks better than perfect black paint.
2. Taking a cash discount or an accessory credit is an easier decision. If you love the stock look and sound of the bike, take the discount. If you're like 99% of the people on this forum and you want to personalize it, take the larger accessory credit. Basic performance and exhaust modifications will chew through $2K faster than you can walk across the showroom floor. Even if you plan to do absolutely nothing to the bike, you will spend at least $500 on a few little items. Also, if you get the accessory credit you won't have to take immediate grief from your wife/girlfriend about spending more money on a brand new toy.

Black is beautiful but the scratches are ugly. Go White! I had an 08 Heritage that I loved & wish I never sold! Congrats!

Some say the only real color for any HD is black. I like the white.

White list price $17794.00 + security $1195.00 + freight $335.00 = $19324.00
balance = $ 1676.00 for tax and tags looks like list price straight from the book?
better get the $1500.00 or $2000.00 up front

Just pull down your panties down and get ready for an experience in Harley ownership. Its truly a "feeling".
Its a very expensive hobby. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
As far as the color, be you bro. A famous quote thats seen on this forum alot " F'em, who cares what everybody else thinks"......
By the way, welcome to the neighborhood....
