Default Washington State Noise.....

I'm getting ready to put a set of pipes on my 2011 Fatboy, but I will be moving to Washington State in about a year for work.
After reading some of the laws on noise, and a decibel limit of 82, I was wondering if any of you from Washington have had any issues or been harrassed for being too loud.
I'm planning on going with the Big Radius 2 into 2, and here in Texas, there are no laws about how much noise you create.
Anyones thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

from what i've read online, a stock HD exhaust is anywhere from 78-84db at idle, with the Big Radius with the Quiet Baffles being 92, Standard baffles being 96-98, and without baffles being 104db.. but if they have a decibel limit of 82, then that's like saying to the entire state "You are not allowed to change your exhaust, ever."

I lived out there from 03-05 and ran some Screamin' Eagle Stage II pipes that were pretty loud. Never had an issue, nor did I ever hear anyone bring it up as a concern. When I see the dates in print, I guess that was a long time ago. Seems like last year when I just think about it. Great riding out there and would love to go back.

As it is right now, I don't believe there is any state law, just local ordinances. Local noise ordinances are very rarely enforced, but a small town local yokel might use it as an excuse to pull someone over if he feels like being a dick.

I'd say about 75% of Harleys in western WA run loud pipes, and about half run really loud pipes. The percentages in eastern WA (the other side of the mountains) are probably higher (there are quite a few yuppy fair weather weekend riders in western WA). I doubt if anyone ever gets hassled in eastern WA for loud pipes.

You have nothing to worry about what so ever. Lots of loud bikes & never a issue. You will only get pulled over for speeding or for doing something stupid. As far as the noise from your bike, they won't even look your way!

As a matter of fact, my brother ran those same pipes for 3 years on his Fat Bob & never had any issues.....
