I doubt the HD guys would "catch it" because their Stage I flash is EPA compliant, therefore lean. If it meets spec then they're going to call it good. You have to get away from the H-D flash and go with a custom tune to get rid of the lean condition.

 

That makes sence. I use an auto tune on my mountain sled, and then download to my PC5. I stay away from the factory tune because of to many motor failures. Do you know if there is an auto tune for the screamin eagle tuner?

OK...after installing my V&H BR 2-1, SE Heavy Breather, and FuelPak...no pings what-so-ever.

 

U may not be lugging U motor, but U just might be giving her too much throttle while just putting alone in 5th or 6th. Try 1/2 or 3/4 throttle.

Seldom do I go full throttle under 2500 rpm's in 5th or 6th, though I can (cams and good dyno made a big diff) if U need to accelerate fast U might just drop a gear and see if it still pings.

 

Pinging is from pre-ignition, not detonation. The two are often confused with each other but they are two entirely different things.
