Default Broken Saddlebag question

2003 Heritage. The plastic that is riveted to the top/outside edge broke at one of the rivets. Anyone sell this piece or will I have to find a DIY fix?

Thanks

Did the plastic actually break or did the rivet just come out?

Where are you located? I have fixed lots of those on Harley bags. Its just a matter of ginding off the backs of the rivets and cutting a new piece of plastic for the brace and riveting it on. I always used a wider piece of 3/16" hdpe plastic so it wouldn't happen again.

I am in Washington, and if I could find the right kind of plastic, I would just make a new one and rivet it in place. Can you give me a suggestion on where to find the black plastic? I can cut to length, drill and install.

My wife caught her fingers between the two broken pieces on our ride this weekend, so now I have to fix it quick....

That's a tough one, you could try looking in your local yellow pages for "plastic suppliers" or a similar catagory. You can sometimes find one who will let you buy the drop offs (scraps) that would be big enough. I could send you some, but the postage would be either slow or more than the plastic costs.
