Default 50K and still goin' strong

I just had to snap a pic of the odometer at 50k miles. I was just leaving the HD shop after looking around last week. When I bought her new in 2006, she had 6 miles on the odometer. Now she has 50,300 plus and runnin' fine. Love my bike.

Oil?

Just curious.

The only repairs I have had done besides regular oil changes & maintenance was to replace my rocker box gaskets because one developed a leak. Somewhere along the way I changed to Syn3 oil. I go through a rear tire once or twice a year.

Great dude! Good to see a real biker out there! I got 40k on mine and my friend has just over 288000 on his heritage! Yes that's 288k as in thousand! never had a top end job or anything...just tires and oil changes! He also has a roadking with 260k all stock! They both look great too! So what I am sayin is she will last a looooong time no matter what these jappers tell ya. Have fun out there and be safe!

I don't think I have seen a breath of fresh air like this thread, since I started lurking here.

I think that the vast majority of Harley owners would have the same testimonials as we are seeing here. Thousands of miles, with minimal issues. (And no. I'm not. I'm just an everyday consumer like most of you.)

Many folks come here for advise when they have a problem (don't get me wrong, that's a good thing, as there is lots of good experience here). And there are lots of cool bikes, and success stories. But in reality, the people that don't have a problem don't google, find this site, and come here. Why would they? They are busy with their lives. (This site is a much smaller community than one might realize).

I think (my opinion) that this great "problem solving site" can start to make you feel like Harleys are junk, or start to induce bike hypocondriac type paranoia, if you browse through the problems posts too much. (I was starting to get that way, after lurking here too much, a year or so ago).

I am not intending to offend anyone. But just saying, get out and ride, or play with the kids/grandkids, go fishing, whatever.

I guess the alternative is, you can be paranoid and try to be proactive about every problem that you think MIGHT happen to your bike. Is that the HD lifestyle you were looking for?

Just my 2 cents.

Yep! I agree! Get out and ride! I know too many garage bikers who never take there bike out ..just have it to show friends...hey if that's what you want...then it's ok....but for me...I bought mine to ride!

Thanks for the input Cozmic!
