custom paint?

For those who have or know, does painting the bike have any effect on the serial #, registration or title

Lady here in the ca dmv said you just have to notify them when you renew your registration.

Yeah, what bobber said. The VIN numbers won't change with paint but if the cops run your plate it will come back to the color the DMV has. Not a huge deal if everything else matches, it will just show a red Harley on his screen when he has pulled over a black one.
It happens all the time, very common with older cars. Not many cops care about the DMV colors. VIN and engine numbers are what is important.

Doesnt effect anything at all as long as the base color is basically the same as the title or reg. I went from a dark blue to a lighter blue as an example with no issues

VIN # will not change at all.

Its the same as painting your car... doesnt effect anything.... and you DONT have to notify them...its not a requirement that u notify them...specially with as easy as it is to see the vin on a bike... ole man is a Motor Scout.
