I remember my first ride when I picked it up from the dealer. I was so anxious. Trying to get used to the ride and feel of it. After riding the nightster, it's a whole new story.
I just got my bars the other day, according to the dealership all the cables and the brake line do NOT have to be replaced. They are just re-routed to fit.
Does anyone have a service manual that they would be will to scan and send me the directions to remove the handlebars. The directions that come with the bars, do alot of refering to the service manual, go figure, to to add to it, the dealership want 325$ to start with to do the install. Thanks in advance. Mark
Hey guys I'm looking to put these on my '12 Blackline and have been getting mixed answers about cables. The dealership looked in their book and told me I'd need to change out the brake line but nothing else.
Can I get away without changing the brake line or throttle/clutch cables and using all stock? I'd like to get a definite answer before I dish out the cash for them.
Just picked mine up today, dealership looked it up, went back and asked the service tech told me no new cables needed. He did give me the option to purchase longer if I wanted (gee that was nice) or using the existing would work fine.
(edit)
So The bars and new grips are on.... Its a new bike, I guess I never realized how far I was having to lean forward with that "aggressive" riding position they advertise. With those new bars on Im actually leaning back and enjoying the ride with my arms bent and comfortable. Even control seems better and smoother. Ill get some pics up once it stops raining.
I just purchased a used 2011 Blackline today and want to get those HD pull back bars that look oh so comfy. Sounds like re-routing the break, clutch & throttle cables will be good enough, but are electrical wiring extensions required? Just want to make sure.

You should have plenty of wire in there, no worries. That bike in your signature is badass.
