helllo all, i am about to order vance & hines 2 into 2 big radius for my 09 rocker c do i need an 02 sensor plug ?? the bike is 100 % stock let me know thanks bobby
If you're correct in defining "stock" where you don't have a tuner on the rocker - then you'll install your O2 sensors in new exhaust during assembly. You'll need them to make bike exhaust communicate w/ECM...unless you have aftermarket tuner (where most are plugged). Enjoy the new pipes - they're going to sing!
Im running a PC-V with my pipes so the O2 sensors are not used. You can leave the sensors in or plug the holes with the PC-V but I would think it would depend on what ECM controller you are using. I have always used the PC-V so I can't answer on other types. Someone here will chime in on other types.
Okay, bro...with all the different answers, here, you're gonna need to clarify what you're asking. Are you asking whether you need the actual O2 sensor plugs, or pipes that accept the O2 sensor plugs?
If your bike is stock and it's an '09, it already has the O2 plugs. They unscrew from the stock pipes and will need a place to go when you get the new pipes, so you will need a set of pipes with O2 sensor bungs to accept the plugs.
Looking at V&H's website: if you are getting the chrome Big Radius 2-2 pipes you will need the ones that fit 2008-2011 Softail. If you are getting the black ones, you will need the 1986-2011 Softail version (looks like the black ones all have sensor ports).
