Trading!!!

The Rocks have never been my choice of ride, Not the kind of ride Grandma and I want, or just me.!!! cause I've never rode one,.... but I've ridden My son Deuce and NT and Hated them.
They just don't fit My 6'2'' overweight body with Grandma on the rear 95% of the time.
They may be a good bike for what I call BAR-HOPPING, but not for our 2 up riding style and needs.
Nor are they "IMO" really a serious Road bike....
IMO,, a Rock, Deuce, NT, STC is not made for Serious Road Trips, though some others would kick me saying that and they do road trips all the time..
For a road trip U need comfort and storage... IMO,,, again IMO the only bike in the softail platform that will do that is the Heritage. Again just me.
I've ridden several RK's, an Ultra' and a Street glide, I still would take My Heritage over any of them..

I have never ridden an SG, but after years on a couple of Dynas, 3 years on a RK and now 1 1/2 years on a Heritage, I would recommend at least giving the Heritage a spin as well. I never liked the upright way I felt on the RK and I rode it for 50+K miles, so it wasn't like I didn't give it chance. Seems like the SG is going to put you in a similiar riding position. Loved the Heritage by the time I hit 4th gear for the first time. SGs look great, lotta people love 'em but I suspect they never rode a softail. Good luck, you are headed in the right direction if you are looking at doing some serious miles.
