Default Thinking about lowering my night train

Hey, so I've been a member for a few months but have just recently started doing more than just reading, and I need a little advice from some of the more salty guys. I have a 2009 night train and I live on Oahu, so if you are not from around here know that the roads are not the best, and now I want to lower the bike but am concerned about how practical it will be around the island, keep in mind I'm about 200 pounds and I sometimes bring my wife along for the ride. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have 422 lowered about 1 1/2 and preload at 1/2. I'm about 220 and ride 2up slot and never bottom out

Everyone else will tell you shotgun

Shotgun Shock is the ONLY way to roll. You can adjust height and firmness on the fly so it's practical for all riding. Plus, it'll make your Train look badass when lowered/slammed.

I used the bolt kit for my last several Softails over the years with no complaints.

I guess I could have spent more, but it works just fine.

Hell I live on Oahu also and yeah the roads can be bad... But slam that thing brah... lol
I run the shotguns now but for years I ran my bike slammed with a bolt kit, then Progressives ain't no big thing sometimes you gotta sacrifice the comfort for style

If you pick some progressive gimme a shout you can come over and we'll help you throw them on. And if you wanna come out riding shoot me a PM with your phone number I you can come out and meet the guys!

Aloha, Mark

Thanks for all the feedback, I've been thinking of the cheap bolt kit from progressive for about 100 but I want to make sure that isn't a giant waste of money. Story I'll definitely hit you up when I make a decision, I've been looking for some folks to cruise with all the guys I work with ride crotch rockets
