Rolling Again... Thankfully
Maybe this is a small thing, but somewhere on my most recent trip with my wife, we had gotten a lacerated rear tire and didn't know it. We were riding the hills and curves of PA's Grand Canyon (Pine Creek Gorge). The return trip to our home was 4 hours of cold (42 degrees) and rainy (we didn't don our rain suits in time so we just kept riding) conditions. At highway speeds + wet roads, low visibility, lots of truck traffic, a sudden flat would have been... who knows? It wasn't until the next time I went to ride that I found the rear tire flat. That afternoon, I pumped it up and rode to HD shop nearest my home and got the bike back the next day. I found that it had been washed (and boy did it need it) and the labor cost was waived. Now we're rolling again, and I'm thankful for protection in our journey as well as the kindness of the Harley shop. We had a great scenic trip yesterday. And yes, my wife is a real trooper.
