Negative shipmate ... the Nightster is a rubber mounted motor and her Heritage is a counterbalanced Twin Cam 96 ... so, both pretty smooth relative to the ones you are referring to ....

I ride with a lady that is in her 60's & is very small in size. She has always rode a Heritage. She rode a trike for one year & went back to a Heritage.

My wife had a 2007 Sportster 1200 low. After about 3500 miles she bought a 2007 Heritage. She had it lowered and the seat shaved to narrow the stance. She only had a year riding experience when she got the Heritage. The wind shield, saddlebags, wider front tire and smooth running engine are all worth it. She did have to change the stock Heritage handlebars to fatboy bars inorder to relieve a pain in the shoulder from to stock bars. She has also since changed to hardbags and Vance & Hines exhaust and a SERT and stage one.

Gotta give you the girls' opinion. I have had a number of bikes since I started riding 5 years ago. All because I didn't take the time to test ride - not just sit on a bike before I bought it. I just traded in a 2010 Streetbob for a 07 deluxe. Not because of the shake - even though there was a noticable difference between the dyna and my deluxe but because of the comfort and handling level. Had a 08 Sporty low before the dyna and it had to have been the most uncomfortable bike I have ever been on if you wanted to ride for more than a few miles. Many people love them and even tour on them but it was a VERY uncomfortable ride all of the way around.
Make sure your wife test rides the Heritage herself before you buy it for her. What may seem perfect for her to you, may not be once she gets on it.
The heritage is not that much different from my deluxe and no matter what I buy in the future, this bike will not leave my stable. The maneuverability of this bike is incomparable to anything I have ever driven before and I never knew I could be this comfortable when riding.
Good luck on your search! Probably didn't answer your question - I'm sure the boys will help you out on that end but you know us women. We gotta put in our .02 whenever we can!!

I like to think that my 1995 Flstc is running just great but it vibrates after 65mph. I have little issue with it until then and forget about my mirrors after 75 as they dance around on the bars. I love the vibration and the feel of the Evo and can't imagine trading this bike in for a Twinkie. If I graduate to a newer bike I will try hard to hold onto this bike. From what most people say on these forums an Evo will easily do over 100k. I'll let you know when I get there...
