Default heritage comparison

Need some opinions/input folks. My wife says she is ready to move up from her 99 sporty and I've read in the past that the softtail heritage is a great balanced bike with a very low centre of gravity compared to the sportster. My wife is a bit intimidated by the bike I'm looking at purchasing which is an 89 heritage softail with only about 20 thousand miles on it which to me is mint and very stock, it was a trade in from the one owner. So question is, is there differnces between an EVO 89 heritage softail and a TC heritage softail as far as ride, weight , centre of gravity etc is concerned?
Thanks

My wife is a new rider and after her rider's course, I bought her a 06 Dyna low and she loves. After about 2 weeks of riding around on it I left her ride my 07 Heritage.

Within 5 minutes she asked why I resisted letting her go straight to the Heritage, as it was like driving an easyboy recliner.

the evo motor is good but, in my oppinion buying something that old is a gamble...my bro has a 99 heritage and it is nice and handles very well....but for a low center of gravity nothing beats a fatboy....

weight and center of gravity between an EVO and TC are about the same....

ride is different. TC is smoother than an EVO. It is noticeable. My evo's are like a blender... My TC's are smooth... I wouldn't get rid of any of them, the preference on a longer ride is the TC

Ok obviously I'm in my own little flht world, I had thought that all touring fres
like the 89 EVO including the heritage softtail were rubber mount motors but to my surprise there not. Just how much do they shake at speeds? The whole idea with getting my wife onto a softtail into save her shoulders which are generally in pain for a few days after we've done a few hours riding with her on her 99 rigid mounted Sporty. Are there bikes from the EVO era that that have as good a ride as the flht's?

The EVO's shake in general. Mine tend to smooth out at 75mph, but before that, there is always a buzzzzz felt in the bars and the floor boards.

You can find great deals on a 00-06 TC with an 88.

All U'll get in here is each one ones opinion.. mostly each of us think out bike is the best...

The evo's are in a lot of HD'ers mind the best motor MOCO has made..
They may be, BUT The new 96'ers are proving to be a pretty good unit also.

Other than the Evo's will vibrate a LOT more than a Balanced motor theirs not a whole lot of diff in the dimensions/size of the bikes.

In my mind buying a 20+ yr old bike its not the miles,, its the age of all the parts that make up the bike.

I'd rather buy one thats been ridden several K's every yr that one's that sit most of the time. Things dry out, shrink, and rot when then sit..

So low miles doesn't impress me one bit, I'am not talking 150k here, I mean less than 1k per yr....

They (Evo's) should handle close to the same, ride a little rougher, less power(Unless its built up a little). while costing less $$$$$.

If U are just wanting a local riding bike till it proves itself. go for it.
Any time U buy used just remember some don't sell their old bike till it starts giving them problems..
I just don't like buying others problems...
Just check it out good or get her checked out by a good wrench first. NEVER,, NEVER... Trust anyone when they are selling something..
THEY WILL LIE through there teeth...

I went from a 1200 Nighster to a Street Bob.Just traded that in for a Heritage. Had I test ridden a Heritage at the time i bought the Street Bob, I never would have bought the Street Bob. The Heritage is THE bike for me.

I'm going to assume the 1200 was rigid mounted, so question is does the heritage being rigid mounted rattle your teeth like the sporty did?

I have a Deluxe , same as a Heritage . Rides really smooth , nothing like the solid mounted sporty. No shaking at idle , slight buzz , at highway speeds . Nothing that you really even think about.
