Default Heritage?

I sat on my bud's softail last night with the wife on the back. It's the model with the skinny 21'' up front. EVO, I want to say 90' model. It would work but no room to spare as she s right on top of me. My question is would an 88' heritage have any more room other than the wider seat? If not, I don't want to waste my time going to look at it.

The only way to know if the bike works well for you and the wife is to go sit on it. Test it out.

We can say there is more room or there is not more room but only you know for sure. If necessary, go to a dealer and sit on a Heritage. The size of the bike hasn't changed much.

My first Harley was an '88 Heritage. Loved the 80 cu. in. Evo carbed engine. Current bike... 2012 Heritage.

You didn't mention how big/tall you and your wife are. Heritage is a big bike, but I've seen guys sitting on it that made it look like a scooter.

Gotta ride it to know.

Mary and I are very comfortable on our Heritage. As much, or more, than a "Touring" model. But it is different for everyone.

I just bought my 2000 heritage from my father in law. We are 2 diff people. He rode fine with his wife. He's 6'2" at least 350lbs. His wife is about 5 foot, we'll just say she's plump. They ride fine together. My wife and I are both 5'4" and we are not little skinny people. All of us are able to ride 2 up. Like the others said you gotta sit on to know for sure but my guess would be its big enough. I know because I couldn't ride 2 up with my wife on my sportster it's was too cramped. One thing I can't speak for is if your wife is really tall. Or if she's a bigger gal. And I really mean no insult whatsoever I swear but she would probably have a backrest and might cramp you forward. I like em thick myself so my wife is not a skinny mini and there's is plenty of room for us. I hope this is helpful. IMHO I'd say if a heritage isn't big enough, your wife should have her own bike cause they don't get much bigger.

Thanks for the replies. I know the best way is to try them out but I was looking for a quick answer to my question. "My question is would an 88' heritage have any more room other than the wider seat?" because I was supposed to look at a heritage right after work and didn't want let this deal to slip away.Long Story)

I'm 6' 278 and the wife won't tell me her weight. She is tall though.

Oh I see. Read the original again. Sorry brother. I haven't personally ridden both models so I can't say 100% for sure but my guess would be no it won't be bigger. I could be wrong and someone can correct me if I am but a softy is a softy. I think they all have about the same size frame. I wouldn't think you'd gain a lot of room on the heritage. But if its a deal go check it out man. If ridding 2up doesn't work you can always get your wife a bike. We hope to get my wife a bike in spring.

I am 6'2'' 280 and the wife is 5'4', 120, in the 7yrs we've had our Heritage and rode her 46K. the wife was on the rear about 40K of them and we've not cramped.
If she was like 5'10'' and 175, then there would probably be some tit compression going on. even that ain't all bad sometimes.

No need to be sorry. Your reply actually helped me a bit. My OL won't be riding her own. I think I found a deal on a Road King. Gotta take road trip Sat, and hope like hell I don't waste 8 hrs riding in the cage for nothing...
