Nope you don't need the clamp. I upgraded to new risers for sprinters only from Chubby bars I believe. No slip at all anymore. The stock risers were crap and I couldn't get em tight enough to not slip. Love these bars still
Awesome. I have the same problem with my bar clamps. I've got some 16 inch apes now and the clamps suck. I've got some 17 inch evil apes on the way and want to solve the slipping issue. I will check out those clamps. Thanks!
I had bought the 16" Gangsters and I did so blindly. Like you I had no previous ape experience and I didn't know anyone who did for me to be able to see or a bike to sit on. On the day my bike was going into the shop to start last years mods a guy pulled up with the 16", 1.5" riser and I knew instantly they were to tall for me. I called Carlini and they let me swap out my bars for the 14", 1.5" bra riser and they fit me perfectly. I am 5'10" and when I ride slammed they are about an inch over my shoulders. I went with the Gangsters over the Evils because I was going to run everything through the bars. Those turned out to be in my top 3 favorite mods.
I know this is an old post but I'm hoping you guys can help me. I just ordered a set on 17" evil apes for my dyna. I'm 6'1 hoping I ordered the right size. I just thought the 14's would be to low. Any thoughts? U gues have any updated pictures?
I don't have Carlinis, but I have 16s and I'm 6 foot tall. They fit well, but I'm tall and lanky. You should be fine. And you can always move them closer/farther away at the bar clamp to make them comfortable. Mine are straight up and down.
I do have a set. I ordered them from a Forum Member. When I received them, they were bent and I'm not going to install them. When I called out the seller, he got very defensive and said they must have gotten bent in shipping. When I looked at the original post and looked closer, I could tell they were bent in the pictures he posted.
Bars wouldn't get bent in shipping unless the shipper intentionally bent them.
I paid with PayPal friends and family so I'm screwed.
Wow. Whata ***** man. I hope he gets what's coming to him. That is some bs. Well these are my first set of apes so I hope I like them. They aren't cheap. I'm pretty pumped to see how they turn out. First Harley first set of apes. 😊
