They don't make a Venom for the rear of a Deuce so they suggest their sport touring tire which has a similar tread pattern. Been very happy with the grip and mileage of Avons. Aggressive riding on the back roads of West Virginia made me a believer
On my 2001 FXSDTI I am running a 170 (Screamin Eagle HD Dunlop)... No issues, no need to change anything at all. Great Handling, Great Clearance... lower profile, wider stance... matched with S.E. 21" up front... Done!
On their site is a table that states the following wheel tire combinations can be used with no mods;
17x6.25 200/55-17
18x5.5 200/50-18
Any truth to these specs? Has anyone tried these combinations?
I put an 18x5.5 wheel with a 200 metz on mine but you have to change to the narrow belt,sprocket and guard that the 06 up STC/NT run. Put a 90/90 metz up front. Really rides smoother.
exactly, the kit moves the wheel over 1/8" towards the caliper side and the pulley to the other side to compensate. I guess it's easy enough to fabricate but for 60 bucks it was worth it to me.
i run a 180 on my deuce,but i have a 18x5.5 rim, i also have the narrower belt and pulley and can run a 200, someone mentioned a pirrelli night dragon 180, that is the best tyre i have used
the only 180 you can use on stock rim is the SE180, not sure its a true 180, the stock rim can take any 170
