I'm currently running Avon venom WWW... and I just purchased a set of Metzelers ME880 WWW. I just decided to go for Metzelers this time around for a little bit of a change up. Plus the Metzelers are cheaper.
So my question is... Is there really a big difference in traction and tire life between these two tires? I've run through my Avon tires fairly quick. As they are a soft compound.
I know the tread patterns are completely different and also the WWW is different. My Avon tires gripped the road very well. As i hope these new Metzelers will.
I'm not interested in other tires or brands. This will be my first set of Metzelers... so i just wanted to know a little more about them.. and yes I've searched through several threads
BnC I run both on 2 different bikes and I prefer the Metzlers overall. Both stick well so no mileage the way I ride but I prefer the Metzlers.I can feel the road better with them.
When you get some miles on the Metzler's please post what you think of them. I've been reading as much as I can on these two brands to replace the www dunlop's I have on my bike. There's little choice with the www's so I'd be real curious what you think.
I've run both on my bike. I get about the same mileage out of each and they are both nice and sticky. I p[refer the Metzler in front as it does not have the straight tread down the center of the tire like the Avon does. Running Vee Rubber on teh front now.
Metzlers are good tires but make sure to use Metzler's recommended tire pressure not stock pressure. Metzler pressure runs about 5psi higher and I found it makes a big difference in handling.
I have the Metz and I love em but like others have said check the preasure and check it often. You will get much more milage out of your tire if youre **** about this little thing and I usually get about 7-8k out of my rear tire.
Ran Both on my Heritage and Preferred Metz ME880's Little better Mileage and Handling .. Though don't have a Softail now am also running them on my Ultra and FXR with Great Results and Excellent handling ..
