I went to ride my Nite Train to work, started it up and no headlight.
Found out the bulb melted and shorted out. Not only ruining the bulb but the wires that connect to the bulb.
I was sold this bulb by my Harley dealer last spring (2010) as a brighter bulb. What I want to know is could this have been the wrong bulb for my Nite Train?
The bulb # is '27074-02 High Output Headlight Bulb'
date on package 02/21/10
thanks
Ya, if it was a 80/100 it got to hot and melted the plastic socket, causing a bad
connection, causing more heat which melted the wires. I hear there's a ceramic socket for the higher wattage bulbs.
dont use those 80/100 bulbs. there are a few out there that match the factory wattage, and put out way more light. PIAA and EIKO make them if i recall correctly.
