Just turned 3000 flawless miles on mine and I ride this bike like I stole it! 07's are selling like hot cakes at my dealer. In fact they can't get rid of the 06's!

I wish this was true! Try finding a nice '06 Softtail standard that has been marked down! Ha! TRied to get one a week ago through AAFES, no luck! ALL SOLD!!

can get a 2007 Softtail Standard for $14.5K

I have been hearing terrible stories about the 07 96CI harleys. tons of problems.
I haven't heard any of these "terrible stories" and there certainly aren't "tons of problems." Most of the complaints and speculation I have read came from people that don't own one.

I just past the 1000 mile mark on mine with zero problems. Gobs of power and the smoothest-shifting tranny I've ever seen.

2800 miles and no problems at all. There are a couple guys aroundthis forumthat have a problem with their '07 and are on a crusade to bash HD and their dealer and to prevent folks from buying an '07. My dealer sells a lot of '07s and I don't see them coming back.

I knew this topic would get the forum buzzing. Fact of the matter is there will be changes on the later models in the next year or two which will make it better. This will be because of the buyers who jumped right in on the new model They will be the ones that make Harley aware of what they are. If its a problem that is a real problem then they will fix the ones of the riders who complain. They will never have a recall unless its real serious or life threating. They play the odds meaning like we sold 20,000 bikes and maybe only 5,000 get fixed because they where complaining. if they have a recall it means fixing the 20,000. Example the Harley deluxe bags. there was a real problem with them if you go in and complain they have a kit to fix the latches not every one is aware of this so out of the thousands sold only a portion get the kit. this is the way of the business world, The people who bought the first of the 07s will have to live with the bike with out the mods that always come after the model has been out there awhile this is a fact. I remember when i bought my 67 sporster brand new $1650 first year of the new carberator nothing but problems put the bike on the kickstand and gas would pour out of the carb. brand new=problems

I'd think that at this point, with limited riding because of Winter, I'd wait for next year and get an '08...

btw Django - just how fast does a raped ape run?

It seems that only the baggers have had the tranny noise.
