Default Heritage Classic Stage 1 Opinions

Regarding my 2010 Herritage Classic:

OK I started a new thread on the same subject as my previous posts so I can get opinions on what my independent dealer wants to do to my bike.
They said the best way to go is a

Vance and Hines Fuel Pak
Product Description:
Manufacturer Part Number: 61001A
$279.99

and they are going to replace the breather with a
Screamin' Eagle Stage I Air Cleaner Kit
PN 29260-08
$139.99

Labor for both would be $95.50

They are giving me 10% off the labor so the total with tax would be $473.00.

I don't need to squeeze every last ounce of power out of my bike, I would like to get the most bang for my buck. How much of an increase in HP would I realize and would this be the best way to go???

Don't think you will get much of an improvement unless you change the exhaust.

I like the V&H Double Barrels.

For the intake I went with the HD SE Heavy Breather, not much of an improvement over the SE Stage 1, but just like the looks. To me it's worth the extra money.

It's your bike change it to what you like. There is an old saying

'"I spent most of my money on motorcycles, women and whiskey the rest I just wasted.

Enjoy your ride an ride safe.

First of all, save yourself $100 bucks and hang that stuff on your bike yourself. +1 on the comment above. Without an exhaust modification the rest will be marginally effective (read waste of money). To do the job right and get the best bang for your buck, get a race tuner, less restrictive air cleaner, and aftermarket exhaust (2 into 1 is the concensus best performer). A dyno by a good tech will put them all together and you will have one excellent performing bike. The cost of all this will probably make you want to run the other way but that feeling will disappear immediately after you take your first ride.

On my '10 Heritage, I sucked it up and installed everything together (V&H Bigshots, V&H V02 Naked with Skullcap, PCV with auto-tuner). Also put on the high performance HD oil cooler later on. Obviously your choice to do it yourself or pay someone.

Agree with the others. The biggest bang for your buck will be realized with the exhaust (felt my increase in the low gears).

So, just know you will have a definite increase in HP when it's all done - you just might not notice it as much if you do it in phases.

Have fun and good luck!

I FORGOT TO MENTION: I have Rush Slash Down pipes already installed on my bike. That being said what say you to the above modifications???

I would opt for a different tuner than the FuelPak. It will cost more but be more beneficial as well. I can save you some cash on all the parts, install yourself and come out ahead.

You might want to check with Vance and Hines; I've heard the FuelPak will only recognize their products. The Screamin' Eagle Supertuner may be another alternative. I think "Oct1949" runs this set up on his Heritage, but he also has cams.
Let us know what you decide and how everything works out; good luck!

Went in to the dealer today and asked their opinion. I was told that I probably would only realize about a 5hp increase with the new breather etc. Is this really worth it and will I notice much of a difference??
