If you have a Blackline, I feel your pain. It's been pretty difficult to find new and cool stuff to customize this model, especially with bars. HD made it difficult (but not impossible) with the speedo mounted on the triple tree and the wider spacing. Well... I've had some bars made and will be posting some pics once it's all back together. You can see a sneak peek in my profile pic... I can tell you that every Harley dealer I've talked to is eagerly awaiting the completion of this project to see how it comes out. Many of the bar companies wont even touch this one, and now I know why.
I'm new to the forum, so if you have a Blackline and can share some insight, please reach out.
I bought my bike in May and have 4,000 miles on it....here's what I've done.
RSD Turbine
Vance & Hines 2/2 Big Radius
Custom Fab 30" sissy bar
License place relocated
Grips, pegs
....and now bars
I ordered the cables from Magnum Shielding. I'd recommend going with them as they make all the OEM Harley cables and know the specs, fittings, banjo angles...etc. www.magnumshielding.com
I ordered the clutch, throttle/idle cables and brake line at +8" over stock. My bars are 14", but with the angle and pull back the cable position is more like +6" over stock. Long story short, I've sent the throttle/idle cable and brake line back to Magnum Shielding and am having them cut down roughly three inches. I felt like the clutch cable worked well at +8" over stock length, using the same routing of the cable as stock.
For the electrical, Guerrilla Cables makes a nice plug and play system for the new softail. I went with a 12" extension which is more than plenty of length. Honestly, the stock wiring is looped around with some excess and almost reaches, even with the new taller bars. www.guerrillacables.com
I bought the bars "Dukes" from John at Hardtail Choppers. We actually went back and forth on some design ideas and he was way easy to work with....cool guy. www.hardtailchoppers.com
