Default Help from guys with lowered rocks please

G'day all,

Im just about to start another round of mods on my rocker.

I'm putting drop ins in and want lower it about 1.5 to 2 inches, and really no more

sitting standard it measured 9.5" between the bottom tree and the top of the leg

I want it to end up around 8"

So my question is, how do I get it to 8 inches when the instructions say that there is no spacer used for FXCW

So by now you would know I'm a wrenching novice so if Ive missed something please let me know....

I really want to get this right so if you guys could help by measuring the distance and letting me know and/or putting up pictures of how low your bike has endes up, it would really help

Thanks

Dan

Dan, I just measured mine and it sits a little over 7 3/4. My garage light wouldn't turn on, so I couldn't see to good. Its actually really simple to change the springs. I say try it without the spacer like it says and if its not how you like it. Try it with the spacer. Don't forget to do your fork oil. I didn't change it and I almost went down hard. I used a mix of heavy & extra heavy and it rides awesome now.

Mike, after we took it apart for the 2nd time, I realized it's really simple to do. Trying to figure out my fork oil mix actually took longer. We just disconnected the legs from the top tree and slid the forks out keeping the wheel on.

I would like to hear if anyone else whos done this mod too

Mike, drop ins just seemed an easier way to go

Dan, without the spacer it drops 2". If you want it to drop 1.5", cut the PVC spacer to 1/2" & install. You should be good there.

I did but never wrote it down, all I know is it was 2" lower at the same location you are measuring from.

Can you just loosen the triples and slide the legs up 1/2"?
That's how I did it on my street bikes...
Can it be done on a standard Harley cruiser???

Don't want to hijack, but also planning on doing the progressive drop in lowering kit this winter on my Rocker. Aiming for just a 1" drop. Does anyone know if this kit will work in conjunction with the Ricor Intiminators?
