For me, there are 3 purposes to an air ride system:
1. Style - Looks cool slammed when parked.
2. Convenience - You can adjust height on the fly, so when I know I'll be riding thru some curves, for example, I can put it all the way up to max height, if I want to, to avoid scraping as much.
3. Comfort - Stiffness/rebound can also be adjusted on the fly. You can make the suspension to feel stiff or as soft as you want - dump all the air and feel like you're on a rigid chopper or take it up a few inches, adjust the rebound and feel like you're riding in a Caddy.

The Shotgun Shock is much nicer than the Arnott due to several factors. First off you have an adjustable rebound on the shotgun. Second off only 1 air line. 3rd off it comes from JD who is the man.
