I’ve seen a few of you on here referring to SeaFoam over Stabil for winter storage. I went to their site and read up on it. It also says it can be used in the oil to control moisture and deposits. Has anybody used this in their oil???????????
Seafoam's great stuff - use in tank year-round. No need to put in crankcase b/c you'll be riding, or changing. Not going to build moisture in motor & if you plan to store bike for long-term...going to change fluids anyway...
That's what I thought about not putting it in the oil but was just seeing if anybody tried it.
I put Stabil in my fuel before I put her to bed for the winter.
Still might get a day or two of riding in here or there since I live in South Louisiana.
But currently I'm stuck 300 miles offshore out of Mexico and the way things are going here looks like i'll be here until after the first of the year.
SeaFoam Rocks. It is one of the best additives I have found. I have used it in the oil in a few small motors but not my bike. As said above the oil in my bike gets changed four times a year (every 5K), I can't imagine much moisture build up in there.
I am a user of the sea foam. Like the fact it stabilizes the fuel and it is also a cleaner. I have had problems with the stabil. If it dries out in the carb it leaves a gummy residue behind that can plug the jets. I had this happen twice on my quad and quit using stabil and switched to sea foam, haven't had a problem since.
I use it in the oil about every 5th oil change.
Follow the instructions, oil gets extremely dirty after you put it in.
Seems to realy clean the crud out...........
No oil usage afer 52k miles.
