I just got some bad news.
The Progressive 422(RAP) does not fit my bike because I have ABS brakes!
I do know that they will fit 89-99 softails and they have another shock that fits 2000-2012 softails. They just don't fit bikes with ABS.

They must have recently posted this up on their website because it wasn't there when I first started this thread.
http://www.progressivesuspension.com...37&modelID=665

So I am shipping them back to Dr. V-Twin.
I called there and spoke with Shawn and everything was taken care of with the return shipping.
I just want to say thank you to the guys at Dr.V-Twin and that I got great service from you guys and a great price. In the future, I will be confident and more than willing to go with you guys for my future purchases.

Anyone with a swing arm bag mount these?

I have a message in to Progressive to find out if the banjo fitting can be pivoted 180 degrees to allow the RAP control to be oriented vertically.

It's hard to tell if it would interfere with the bag or not but I'm trying to be safe rather than sorry.

I don't know if this helps ya.
The cable is wire braided hose, it is about 20" and quite flexable.
The RAP control is 5" long.
This picture is from a set that fits 89-99 Softails
According to the installation instructions the shock with the (RAP) is installed on the right side and the hose is routed to the left side.
You can also look up the instructions on Progressives website.

It is a sealed system and I would assume you could mount the RAP control in any configuration you choose as long as the hose is not bent to too much of an extreme and does not rub up against anything.
I would think with this setup the company has made the mount where it is as a convieniance to the customers but it doesn't look like the only mounting option.

As long as you don't have ABS brakes on your softails it will work on them.

Thanks for the reply. You were infinitely more helpful than the lady from Progressive.

One question can you pivot the RAP on the mount? I couldn't get out of them how many bolts held it to the mount (if only one I can pivot). And I couldn't find the RAP install instructions on their site.

Edit:

Figures I just found the install instructions... It sounds like you can rotate the bracket around the axis of the left foot peg bolt. Does that sound correct?

How easy are the original 422s to adjust? I'm solo 98% of the time, so I'll want to ride low, but when the wife wants on, I'll want to bump it back up to stock.
