Glad you're ok.
Problem is, the drivers are just in their own little worlds, music blaring, air con / heater on, chatting to passengers or on phone or worst of all - texting.
They just don't concentrate on driving so we have to do it for them.
I have come to the conclusion that (even without cell phone head drivers) we are living in a third world country. I have been overseas enough to realize that there are no rules there, and there aren't going to be any rules here. You have to ride defensively ALL the time, you have no rights, it's just like being at a rock concert. You have to go West of the Mississippi to find a road you can ride on and enjoy... just because there's not enough population there, YET.

Just don't too far west of the Mississippi cuz out here you would have to deal with waiters practicing their audition lines while on their way to their server jobs, plastic models fixing their makeup in their mirrors on the road, tourists driving 13mph on the PCH while staring at the ocean while Power Brokers tear past them at 100 mph cursing at them as they drive by. And the potholes. Oh how I love them potholes!! Not exactly the safest lanes to ride out here either. And the stop and go traffic. ..... Am I going to far?
Being aware saves lives also. People are oblivious to all things when they are driving. All you see is people texting or talking on phones. It seems to have gotten worse with the texting craze. They need to come up with something that immobilizes phones in the car and let them work only with bluetooth. Hey, maybe I'm on to something. Ride safe.
I was cut off for the third time in two months again this morning!! On my daily ride to work I have to ride on a 3 lane highway for about 5 miles. I was in the middle lane today passing a car in the outside lane when the tractor tailer in the inside lane decided he wanted into the middle lane as well. Living in Va we are not allowed to split lanes. Well I did today!!! The car moved over just enough to make room for me and then I moved in front of the car in the outside lane. I really must have terrible luck. Just needed to vent for a second. Be safe out there guys...
i think its the opposite.. you have good luck. if you had bad luck, you would have been the meat in the sandwich squirting ketchup all over the road..
if i'm stuck in a lane with heavy traffic, merging lanes, on ramps etc.. and i can't get past the vehicle i want, i either lay back if i can't get pass the "pick" vehicle, or i try to move/ zig-zag enough (not erratic)in the lane and hopefully the person coming on the highway will see the headlight moving back and forth. Its seem's to work for me for the most part.. theres this one section of route 81 that merges two entrance ramps together, then onto 81 itself in a 2 lane section where theres always a impatient cager trying to jump the lane markers and beat the slower vehicles in frt of him..
It happens here quite a lot as everywhere I assume. Just have to be very aware of whats going on around you at all times. I tend to stay away from congested freeways if at all possable just for that reason heck they do the same if you are in a car or truck.
