Default tuning question

I read somewhere on here that when you disconnect the battery the power comander tune goes back to factory. I changed my battery the other day and haven't rode a lot till today, and noticed it wasn't the same. So my question is, can riding it with a factory tune hurt it? BTW I have vance and hince long shots and a procharger

The power commander has a volatile memory. It will not lose its memory (map) when disconnecting the battery.
