Hey all
I have a 93 heritage
Stock carby/breather and pipes
has en ev27 cam and andrews pushrods.
Ive sold my car and am looking at putting a set of troublemakers and a mikuni hsr42 carb with hiflo breather
any1 done similar? what sort of power increase will i get
Depending on what pipes you have now to what power gain you will get. I changed my SE11s over for the Hooker pipes and got 1hp more and the torque was the same. I fitted the Mikuni first before I had the 95 kit and heads flowed also before the Hooker pipes. I picked up 1.5 hp on the dyno, bugger all really but I had the bike on there to set the carby up mainly. The major thing you will notice with the Mikuni carb is the throttle response, heaps more responsive to less twisting of the throttle. It also cut out the coughing back through the carby thing as well.....
are they loud?
i pretty much want a real loud pipe
You will be very happy with the sound. They are loud!! On the performance side, I think that any manufacturer that designs a loud pipe that puts out the same power as Screaming Eagle 2 slip ons have really done their homework.

My 42mm Mikuni is my best purchase until now. My setup is: increased intake, 42mm Mikuni, 2-1 thunderheader exhaust, spark plugs, wires, coil and SE ignition module. I think next is cam, head work and push rods.
The Mikuni spoke for itself, sharp response!!! 2-2 Free flow pipes are ok but a 2-1 keeps your back pressure at its desired levels
