What's the best windshield for an FX softail? I know the answer is "no windshield" but its getting cold again. I also know I should just get a bagger but AAFES doesn't sell Harleys for Japan anymore.
Is the Harley shield best?
I don't want anything that mounts to the bars and I'm running 12.5" bars. Quick detach is a must. Black would be nice too.
I tried two different HD shields, the buffeting was so bad I couldn't see. I ended up buying an 18"x18" Windvest. It took some adjusting to find the "sweet spot"...but I can now stay in the saddle a lot longer without the wind on my chest for 2-300 miles. I have also heard good things about Memphis Shades.
This is what I used to run with commuting on my Night Train 100 miles per day. I have since bought a Sportster that I use to go to and fro, but this windshield was a lifesaver, hot or cold, rain or shine.

Windshield is Lexan and is in almost new condition. I have only used Plexus and/or water to clean it. I will take $200.00 for the windshield and docking hardware plus whatever the cheapest shipping calculates from zip to zip.

Does the windvest mount to the fork tubes or the handlebars?
Cee Baileys produced high quality windshield as well. You can check it out here http://www.ceebaileys.com/harley/index.html. If you have any question, feel free to call the sales and they would be glad to help you out.
