seat on Fat Boy
I agree,
The holes don't line up at all. I had to get my son to sit on the seat just so it would get close to lining up. I was doing the same thing - hooking up a batery tender. Now I wonder if I should do that at all.
On one hand, having the battery tender hooked up to the battery (AND the battery in the bike) sounds like the thing to do. But on the other hand, if it is so cold that I need to hook up a battery tender then it probably is so cold I can't/won't ride. So what's the use. I might as well take the battery out and hook up the tender, winterize the bike, and wait till warmer days. I mean it only takes about 10 minutes to get bike ready to ride again if the weather warms up.
Now heated gloves.... that's another story.

Taking off the seat to 'plug in' your battery tender each day/night is a thing of the past.
Harley makes a Battery Charging Harness that installs to your battery.
It's part number 94624-97B and works on all 12-volt batteries, and only costs around $7.00.
You just route the end of the Charging Harness so you can access it without having to remove anything to get to it.
Here is a picture of the harness "plug in" that is on my XL1200C.
I use this harness on all my bikes, and it makes hooking up the Battery Tender a snap.
