Talking Burly Beach Bars Installed!

Ok, I know for many this is old hat and probably the millionth post by members about this! So anyhow, I'm so damn excited, I'll be a million one. lol

I went with the 1 1/4" Burlys, well, the entire parts list is below the pictures for anyone looking for a list of what is needed. I stayed with the black switches to add contrast and thought they'd match up with the new grips, which I think it did. The bars are lowered just below being parallel with the tank and the fit for me is perfect! The bars locked in for parking etc isn't bad at all just the feel of my arms basically just hanging down with everything at my fingertips was the best thing I could have done given my injuries etc...the reaching up and forward just killed me.

A BIG thanks to thelawnmowerman for personally helping me out through tons of messages and to everyone else who has posted information that helped me out with the information you posted!

And what a perfect day it was in NC today to try out my new setup, 74 degrees!!! So perfect I got nearly 150 miles in just this afternoon!!

Congrats man. This is my next modification. Looks great. Big props for posting the parts list. Ive been researching for months trying to figure out the cable lengths and so many people have so many different information. Did your cables come out just right? I like your black switches. I think the chrome switch covers look kinda cheesy. You did good picking out all your parts. Bike looks bad ***

Thanks! I know, I searched and went through the same trying to figure it out and found some great information on here and thelawnmowerman sealed my deal with correct information and wanted to post what worked for me to help others not have to go through so much figuring it out. The lengths fit perfectly! The brake cable could use maybe an inch more, when locked fully to the right, it's slightly tight, but isn't anything unsafe or any issue. I may just need to relook how it's routed. But other than that, the lengths are all perfect.

You won't be sorry with this upgrade! I love the ride and handling, arms are just relaxed in a downward position which fits me perfectly. Good luck with your mod and hurry up and get it done!!! LOL

Dude, I am chomping at the bit big time. I just talked with the guy who is shipping my FLH style extended bags and latches, and they are shipping on Monday. Got the baggertail mounting hardware ordered from Drew today. As soon as I get that installed and get a few paychecks, Im pulling the trigger on the beach bars. I cant really ride much until March, so Im thinking about getting a service manual and doing the bars myself. The clutch cable scares me most because I'm told you have to drain the tranny. I dont even know where the drain plug is haha. When I got my bike, I got 3 years of maintenance, so the only experience I have working on it was installing my exhaust. But I am looking forward to learning how to turn the wrenches on it.
