Default Rev limiter

Hey guys I got a question.. My 2002 fat boy has the 95in sceamin eagle big bore, doesn't look like it has any kind of performance ignition on it, so my question is does the bike have a factory rev limiter? If so what is it?

I believe stock is 5500 and the SE module is set for 6200.

Ok so it does have a factory rev limit. Thanks that's what I wanted to know.

There is a rev limit on stock electronic ignition bikes, I believe it is 5700(?). Stage-1 air cleaners, installed by the dealer usually include a reprogramming and raises the limit to 6200.

Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure this thing wouldnt over rev!

It's hard to get used to no rpm! My last bike redlined at 14K!!

You can get a direct replacement from HD or Dakota Digital that has an RPM gauge.

For Screaming Eagle Ignition Modules used in Kits: 31713-01 and also 32724-01; the rev limiter is set at 7,000 rpm. Google "Screamin J02070" and you will find a pdf copy of the Instructions for these Ignition Kits/Modules. I have the Ignition Coil and Ignition Module for this kit on my 2003 Low Rider.

Its stock at 5500,that is if the harley ignition has not been changed.by the time you red line in 5th you will be doing way over 100.no worries
