Well seems like you know what you want, but you may want to consider Biker's Friend Bags before pulling the trigger.

When you say "Harley STRETCHED bags", can you give me the part number? Or, could you give me the name that Harley calls them in the catalog? I can't find them under the name you used.

John, these are the bags that I bought. They are not an OEM Harley part. If I'm not mistaken, Harley only has the extensions to the OEM bags. I have not received them yet as I ordered mine painted in Harley vivid black and they are getting painted now in Florida. Im hoping to have them by New Years. Id be happy to send you some pictures once they are installed if you have the time to wait.

Thanks for taking the time to post that info, but I am now looking hard at a set of hard bags from Tyukayu.com. Below is a link with the bags that I like on a Fatboy, but it is with a set of Ez Brackets. I am going to mount my bags directly to the fender, simply because I prefer that my bags sit closer to the fender for more of a factory look.

The Tsukayu bags are pretty good quality especially for the $. But they really need a lower mount or they wobble and are not very solid, I would bet that over time they would crack at the brackets.

If you look closely at some of the pictures on their site that have a 3rd mount to the lower rear of the bag into the rear fender , like the HD Switchback uses. Look at the 5th and 8th picture down from the back of the gold bike and you can see the 2 mounts into the rear fender

I was running Boss Bar #37 Springer style on my Fatboy and they are about a big as you can go without moving the T/S.

That is a very good point, and in fact I phoned them yesterday to discuss the brackets with them. They said that they have had problems with the bags wobbling with the Ez and Ghost Brackets, but not with their fixed mount brackets. I wish I could talk to some people that have actually used the fixed mount brackets to be sure.

And I am also very concerned about the bags cracking at the mounting holes, especially if you keep some stuff in the bags all the time like I do. Seems to me that they should come up with a single bracket at the top to spread out the stress between four bolts instead of two.

That set up looks great. I'm looking to do something similar to my 2010 Softtail Deluxe.

You do realize that if all you want to do is have locking saddle bags Harley makes a lock kit that works with your present saddle bags and can even have a matching key to your ignition so you only need one key for your bike and saddlebag lock.
It takes little work to install, just be patient and precise.
It runs $59 for the ignition matching key set. It is only $10 more than the universal key kit and then you now will have 2 extra keys for the bike.
I bought it and it works well.

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to post. You have all sent some good information, and I appreciate it. I think I am pretty set on the Tsukayu bags though, because my painter can paint them to match my bike while he is painting the rest of it. It's always nice to make a little change here and there.

Still am looking into different mounting options though....
