You might as well put in the 107" kit and then have the cylinders diamond cut.. probably save a few bones that way too

I'd do a 103/107 if you have the cyl's off, with some mild cams and just stop there don't go too wild with the motor as for the bars I went with 10" Evil Apes this year as my neck was hurting after an hour. They work great for me,

A 103 kit with good cams, pipe and tune will give you plenty of reliable fun. A 107 will add more HP and TQ to the equation. Be certain to use parts that compliment each other and have a clear understanding of what you are looking for BEFORE you begin. Good luck with the winter mods.....

I would say she is worse at it than most guys, but better at execution. I could spend that much cash on a bike and still not have the vision to make it look as nice as your bike. As far as the 103. I upgraded bikes last year and got the 103 and it is a nice upgrade. You will enjoy the extra power if you spend a good amout of time on the highway.

Peg, you should do it all. Big bore, cams, diamond cut heads and cylinders, etc. Star now so it is done when the snow melts.

But that is a sweet looking ride. Is that the paint job you were thinking about a year or so ago?
Yeah I admit it... I thought I was done with mods but the only way to accomplish that is to stop reading these forums, stop looking at bike pics, and stop listening to comments about "but it's missing this..."

Yeah that's the paint job I finally decided on. Even though pink is not most people's color (it's not my favorite color either but it works well with the breast cancer awareness theme) both men and women say the paint job is superb. Cutting Edge Illusions did a great job, I love it.

RE: BEACH BARS

I had not looked at those before even though some suggested it.... wow I see from the pics here they are really low and swept back. I'm 5' 7" and it's all torso, I don't know if they would work well for me.

I don't even know if the 10" mini apes would either... in talking with the shop last night he said bars are always an expensive gamble and you don't get a true feel until you are riding.

I've ridden the Heritage numerous time and that bar height is very comfortable.

In any case, I have to wait until the new seat is done to see how high/back it is going to sit me.

Peg, I have a 12 year old daughter and she thinks that your bike is the "sickest" motorcycle she has even seen. At least she still thinks that Im the "sickest" dad she knows. Did you say you are getting a new kickstand? The pink one is the only thing that I didnt like on your bike. Other than that, I have to agree with my daughter. Funny story, but she thinks that pink is my favorite color too. I actually do like pink, but dont think I'll paint my bike pink. Black and chrome are the only two colors for me. Chrome is a color right? All kidding aside, you have done an amazing job with your bike. And just so you know, you will never been done with that bike unless you sell it.

The chrome console and the stuff under the seat is causing too many problems. Stock seat is sold as it wouldn't even go on anymore, no matter how I bent it.

The seat that's on there now is barely on and it loosens up every ride. So I'm having a "wife-beater" (hate that term but that's what they call it) 2-up seat made. The bike is very busy so I want the seat very subdued.

Anyway, here's a pic of the Ride Wright Twista wheel Sam sent me. It gets a lot of comments and it's been trouble-free

Oh, and Peg, with the beach bars, you dont have to run them as low as most of the guys, they look good in a level position also. Most of the BB's have about a 15" pullback so you arent reaching forward. For me, I have lower back issues on long rides so the apes just dont work for me. You will get just as many people tell you that the bb's are the best ever as you will with the apes. Its a very personal choice. I never liked the looks of apes, but they are growing on me. For me, I grew up in socal and the beach bars are in my blood. If you get the bars you love first, you can have the seat formed to put you in the best possible position. I think the bars are more important for your comfort and the look you want to acheive. If you do the seat first, then you will have to make the bars fit your seat and you may not end up with the bars that you like the best. Just food for thought
