Default switch housings

How hard are the switch housings to replace? I have new grips, and want to do the chrome switch housings at the same time. How hard are the housings to replace, they don't even offer instructions for the right side. Thanks

It's not hard but it takes a little time , and you may need an extra par of hands

There isn't a lot of slack on the wiring, so fitting the buttons and tightening the brackets in side the control housing can be tough.

I wanted to take a hammer to mine. A buddy came by while I was trying to fit the chrome ones and I got a needed break.
I came back about 30 min later and they went on no problem.

If your manual says shim the front brake lever before removing the covers, it will save you a possible broken brake switch if you shim it first.

Just be careful when you go to stuff all the wires back into place that one doesn't squeeze out and get pinched.........it will short something out and pop a fuze. Good Luck........it's not that tough. I wouldn't try it in the winter unless your garage is heated........the wires are pretty stiff when they are cold. If you don't have a heated garage you can always ride it into the living room, your wife shouldn't mind:>)
