hmm i like my HD Digital Speedo/Analog Tach combo.. simple and looks good.. if only I could change the LED color on it.. i'd rather it be blue than orange. but oh well.
I think us 2006 guys are limited with the HD choices. Seems all the cool ones Harley sells are for the newer years...
UPDATE: Went back to the instructions. I see that it doesn't mount flush in the Console. That's a deal breaker for me...
I was really liking it...
Yep. I was ready to pull the trigger on the Medallion unit. When I found out about the dash pod thing, it was a deal breaker for me too.
I really like the speedo/tach combinations Harley is offering for the newer bikes. I've been holding out hoping they would come out with a version for the '00-06 Softails but, it's not looking good.
Here's a quick update on the Pod part. I chatted with Kuryakyn support and here is the conversation.
Will G. [10:19:31]: Hello my is Will G. How may I assist you today?
ME: Hi Will
ME: I'm looking at the Medallion Gauges and was
wondering if they could be mounted flush in to the console without the POD.
Will G. [10:21:27]: Unfortunately they cannot
ME: Is there any hope down the line?
Will G. [10:22:45]: Unfortunately no, that is actually one of the key features
of the design, it allows you to view the gauge without having to lean over your
console. It also allows for the added depth of the gauge and additional plug.
ME: OK, I appreciate your time. I don't think having it
stick up out of the console would work for me.
Will G. [10:24:06]: I understand, if you have any other questions please let me
know.
I would really like to see one mounted. There is a picture in the Installation Instructions but I need to see it from different angles. Bummer, they are nice gauges..
