Default Deuce Wins!

A few months ago I started serious consideration to buying a bigger bike. It came down to either a Deuce or Heritage. Started a different thread here several days ago "Deuce VS Heritage" and got a lot of great comments. Did some updates along the way and did some serious soul searching about how I would be riding. Both bikes I was considering were in fantastic shape. The Heritage was like new, a 2008 with a little over 6K miles, basically stock so I could do what I wanted. Second bike was like a blast from the past in more ways than one. 2004 Deuce with 316 miles! Could not believe it at first but everything including second owner substantiated it with verifiable title documented miles. I looked at this bike on the 23rd of Dec. and after driving 120 miles to look at her, I had a lot of time to think about her on the way home. I couldn't get it off my mind. I didn't even ride her for fear of making a rash judgement based on first lust. (Kind of like a teenage boy with an opportunity for his first "experience"). Here was an 8yr old, 'brand new' bike with all the original papers, keys, manuals, video, HOG membership crap, etc. plus it had the two or three small things I would ad first, The asking price for both bikes was nearly identical. I have to admit the Heritage was a bit more comfortable to sit, but not enough to make the difference. Late yesterday pulled the trigger on the Deuce and made an offer. The seller trailered it about half way here so I could meet up with him and finish the deal. I put the next sixty miles riding home on her with a big *** grin on my face. It still does not have 400 original miles and it still has that new motor smell! The pic is one the previous owner took so that is all I have right now. Weather was turning crap by the time I got home so studio time and better pics will have to wait for a nicer day. Thanks for all your help!

well its high time that bike had an owner who wants to ride it!!! That was what it was made for, I put 500 miles on my Deuce last week let alone 400 for 8 years,,,,. Congrats man. Nice looking bike and their are plenty of things you will find you can do to make "her" especially yours.

Have fun and safe rides to you.

Deuce

Please ride that poor abused bike that hasn't even stretched her legs once at 8. You have a lot to make up for. Enjoy her.
