Nice looking bike. The Custom is one of my favorite softails. After you get the air cleaner give some thought to replacing those ugly factory footpegs, control levers and grips. It makes a big difference in the appearance.
Depends on what U like, Some spend more on EYE candy, some spend more on making her run better.
I did a little of both, I wan't to help the motor first (1K service), like Stg1, SERT, and dyno to get her running better, then later decieded to get cams at the 15k service.
Of couse I added a bunch of chrome in between and I am still adding.
But the Best change IMO was the cams. They make a huge diff in the smile per miles factor...

I was thinking about cams... there are gear drive and chain drive... I am not looking for a race bike but something to give the bike some more pep and that badazz cam'ed sound. Where do you start looking for cams? What do they cost to install?
I want to get a née style ac but do not want to pay rsd pricing. Where do I buy a tank lift?

Depends on how much of a hurry you are in for an A/C set up. We have a line for Sportsters right now -SEE HERE- and are working on introducing a line for the Big Twins, but it will be another 1-2 months before they are available.
Nice thing about them is that they can have a variety of looks and are not crazy expensive.
First decide if you want your bike for go, or show, or both... My best advice from there is to get a basic idea of what you want the bike to be in the end, then start working towards it. Nothing worse then having to ditch a part you spent good money on because it doesn't work with something else you decided on down the road (this is not always gonna work out for you) As for some of my mods, I tried to go with some stuff that's a little different for other bikes in my area (within my price range) Most people around here have either the big sucker or se a/c, so I put the S&S teardrop on my ride (just an example, and I love the classic style anyways). Just don't build a custom bike that looks like everybody else's custom bike... Smoked lenses and custom grips, pegs, derby covers etc, etc, are cheap places to start if you're just looking for things that will make your bike a little different from the ones in the showroom. But most important, no bike looks good with reflectors on the forks!! So there's your first free mod, lol. IMHO

Do you recommend going with the 2" tank lift? I didnt get an air cleaner yet. I was looking into a Big sucker. If you need a guinea pig let me know

Most people go with a 1.5" or 2" on Softails. They best way to know for sure what will look best on your bike is to follow the notes at this LINK.
Appreciate the offer, we have already been testing several different styles for over 6 months. We're hitting the Dyno next week, and then going to start building inventory before introducing them.
I echo the other comments about grips and pegs. They are relatively cheap and easy mods . I'm running a Deluxe and liked the engine guard look so added that as well. It was another relatively cheap mod. Next up is an air horn and lighting up the rear with brake/run/turn lights . Both on order now.
Dk got some nice pegs ,tank lift kit coil relocation, all cheap mods.air cleaner,is a must.solo seat when you are solo, sprocet cover, lower it,relocate blinkers, check the multi fit section,ebay...i have got most of my mods here on the forum and ebay cheap, don;t use harley unless you have to,drew, the soft tail parts here and ebay ,you will get twice the value
