Default Painted splash guard

I asked awhile ago if anyone had or has seen a painted splash guard, and got no real input.

So another thread got me thinking again.

Would painting the splash guard come out looking like a$$? Would it match pretty close, and do you think it would keep or just chip pretty easily? Prime first then paint then clear?

I know it would be barely visible, but the extended fender look would be nice I think

something like this

With the right preparation the splash guard would hold up fine. There are products that will hold up under extreme conditions if your willing to pay the price to have it done.

I like them either painted or removed and a polished stainless plate in there. I took mine off and put the plate in you can see it on my sig pic. Black plastic just doesn't cut it

Not a painter, but they do have a lot of good plastic paint products these days. You could DIY it like prost did or any paint shop should be able to color match it for you. Not sure but I thought I seen a site you could order HD colors in a rattle can, if so you could knock that out easily enough. Nothing to lose but a little time and minimal $$.

I would get the stainless one as opposed to painting it. My opinion is that the splash guard will stand out too much for my tastes when painted. But, that is just me. Yes, i still have the stock black plastic one on my ride.

I think the plastic guard painted any color that stands out, would look like painted plastic or a$$,which ever you prefer. If you want it to look like an extended fender, you need to replace the splash guard with a piece of a fender...like heartland does with their swingarms...pretty simple project and cheap if you start with a damaged fender to get your section from

Yeah the added color would probably look pretty good.
And like others have said I'm sure you can get some one to color match it with some thing that will stick to the plastic.
good luck wid it.
