Hell All!!
I have an 02 nightrain and am looking at a couple used seats from other models in the softail family. I have been told (by a seller) that the deuce and heritage seats will mount on the Nightrain/Standard model by using the horizontal holes in the frame. My bike is stored some distance away so I cannot verify this. I dont remember seeing these holes so Im thinking there my be a knockout tab hiding them? any assistance would be appreciated.
The Duece seat WILL NOT fit your bike. According to the HD parts and accessories catalog '00-later FLST, FLSTC and FLSTSC, '00-'06 FLSTF. '00-'05 FX SoftailŽ (except FXSTD) all take the same seat. So the Heritage seat as long as its 2000 or newer will fit your bike.
if U go to the left side of the page where the shop by bike is U'll see Softail. click on that arrow down and U'll see a choice of Soft tails and then another one for Deuce.
SO in my mind a Deuce seat won't fit other Softails nor will a seat for a Deuce fit any other softail.
The gas tank is several inches longer on the Deuce than the other Softails, so the shorter seat is probably the reason why it won't fit on the other softails without having its mount system redone.
Anyone who's ever had a Deuce is used to seeing in Catalog's,,, fits all Softails Except the DEUCE..
I am trying to learn more about seats myself so keep us posted. I have an 06 deluxe and I found a stock back rest actually built for my bike, one they don't even make anymore. I hope I am correct too and the guy I bought it from assured me it was stock and for the 2006 FLSTNI driver seat. I will be putting it on tonight or tomorrow. I am thinking all I have to do is remove my rail and add the one from this backrest and thats it! If anyone has any input I sure am open to it.
