Nice! I too am looking to replace my "spike". I want a RSD but who has that kind of money. Was planning on settling for a Kuryackyn, but these modified footballs have given me inspiration. How are these cut out? Dremel tool?

Installing a SE Ventilator AC this coming weekend.
Below is whats on there now.. A modified and edited football.. don't mind the fingerprints.. this was taken right after i cut and modified the cover and base.. i think total cost was around 10 bucks if that..

A dremel would work. I used a die grinder, right angle grinder and finished it up in a drill press. Someone on these forums has a step by step guide on how to do it. The only thing I would suggest is you use a hair dryer/heat gun to gently remove the ring and then do the cutting.
