To the OP, I have the BR 2 into 2's on my bike for over three years now and love them.
Don't know if they made any difference in outright performance, and I really don't give a rats *** if they do or not.
If I had wanted a bike to go from zero to warp 10 in 10 seconds I would not have bought a Harley.
I like how they look and sound and that's really all I wanted them for.

If your just going to do the pipes then any decent set of pipes should do better then anything but stock or drag pipes.
But without a new intake system and an ECM map change, any set of pipes will probably not change things enough to make a real difference in fuel economy.
The stock ECM map is going to have a lot more to say about that then any pipes will.
Got the Black BR 2 into 2 on my 2011 Fatboy Lo. Looks mean as hell and sounds mean as hell. I never recorded my Fuel mileage, so I am not sure how much I may of lost going to them.

YEAH.... It ani't the pipes...Its getting a Good tune to go along with them.
Did you find the volume similar to the stock V&H 2 into 2 baffles with the Thunder City baffles in?
Thats a negative, its considerably louder when you get on it. However, You can may make it sound somewhat normal by cruising when you don't want to much attention.
BTW the biggest reason changing the pipes seems to make the gas mileage go down has nothing whatsoever to to do with the state of tune of the engine.
It goes down because its very hard (for me anyway) to resist the temptation you get to hear the sweet sound of those two big assed cylinders barking at the world.

i had a set on my 09 Road King, they looked and sounded great, as for performance, I did A/C and power commander at the same time. Only two reasons I didn't get them for the Crossbones were, 1. I don't really feel they go with the "look" of the Crossbones, and 2. They almost seem to be standard issue for softails where I live and ride.
