NOT TRYING TO START A NEW OIL THREAD--JUST CURIOUS. I was at the shop I go to the other day and wound up getting some RevTech Oil. The only Mobile I he had was 20-40, but had some syn RevTech 20-50 so I got some. I have never used it, nor do I recall anyone ever talking about it. I didn't feel like driving all over the county looking for anything else. He's a good dude, so I am pretty sure my bike is not gonna blow up next week. I know how people feel about their favorite oil and am not looking for a oil recomendation--we have all read those ad nauseum. Just wondering if anyone else has used it or if they know off hand who makes it. I am pretty sure RevTech doesn't have their own refinery and I am sure it is a rebrand of someone else's oil. So if you know anything about it or use it please chime in. Again, just curious. If there are a 100 hits and no replies, that's an answer too. Thanks
Used it once long ago when out on the road, did an oil change and that was all I could find until I got back hame after vacation. The bike ran fine, had no issues, didn't hear any noise and when I got home and did change it, it looked fine. It was not burnt or anything so although I have only used it once I would use it again in a pinch and not even worry about it.
I have never seen mobil 1 in a 20w-40 flavour. You sure that's what you saw.
Anyways as far as rev-tech oil is concerned I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe check out bob is the oil guy and see if there is a virgin oil analysis on it,someone may have done one and posted the info, otherwise just run it and change it at a regular interval.

Pretty sure, I had in my hand and went whoah, that's not what I want. Mighta been 10-40 I suppose, but a 40 caught my eye somewhere. Its possible I was confused though. I'll have to stop by and look again now.

sure they make multiple grades but not in motorcycle specific. I have only seen and use 20-50 v-twin mobile. They also make 15-50...not mc specific. If my memory serves me correctly !!!!!
RevTech MTP synthetic is all I use in all 3 holes, bro, and I've never had a problem. My bike overheated once, while I was waiting in line to get into an event. Bike was still new and that is when I decided to make the switch to synthetic. NEVER had a problem since. Opened up my motor and tranny last year to change cams and clutch cable and both looked real good. Tranny oil always comes out looking just about as clear as it went in. I think it's just about as good as any other synthetic product out there. No need to worry only because just about everyone in here drinks the Amsoil koolaid...
