Hello, does anybody know how to stop that annoying headlight shake that occurs on the Softail Std. bikes?
The service people say that those model bikes' headlight does that.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
Only thing I might suggest is to try and find a peice of rubber to slide in between where the headlight mounts to the bike. It might cut down on the shaking but probably won't eliminate it fully. Good luck...
hey bannana boat...that is a nice bike you have there....those are things that you will just have to not focus so much on....they are going to shake some.
Yours shakes? I really hadn't noticed it on mine. How much shake? I think I remember some shaking when I first got it but I really don't pay much attention to it nowadays. I only noticed it because I had a FLSTC first with the honking big headlight casing. I've ridden mine 36k now and haven't lost a headlight bulb yet. I've had 15 or so turn signal bulbs fail but no headlights (and I do have an extra bulb at home just in case).
I've always been a little leary when someone says, "they all do that". I have a Standard and the headlight doesn't shake. I reckon I'd make sure it was only the headlight and not the whole front end. If it is only the headlight, I'd tinker with it some. Might be just a spacer washer missing.
