Yesterday I installed Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggereds on my 2007 Heritage. I installed them because of the looks, not the sound. I already had Rush slipons, but just love the BSS looks. I knew they would be a little louder, but damn, they are really loud! I'm afraid that they are too loud for me. I rode it to work and back today (100 miles) and it really bothered me.
I've heard the pipes on other folks bikes, but never ridden a bike with the pipes.
I've ordered the Quiet Baffles for the pipes and hope they help, but if not, I may have to go back to the Rush and stock headers.
Does anyone know if the Quiet Baffles really do quiet them down a bit?
Ha! Ha! I did the same thing. I love the looks for the V&H BBS and bought the quiet baffels too. But I rode for a few weeks and got used to the sound and never installed the baffels.
I will keep them around in case I have to put them in to keep the neighbors from shooting at me. I love the loud sound of the stock pipes and the additional HP gain from their installation.
Good luck with your choice, let me know how the new quiet baffels sound if you put them in. I have heard they only reduce the sound by 3-5db, which ain't much of a change.

The baffles are due in tomorrow or Monday and I'll install them as soon as they arrive. I'll let you know how they are.
This has been my same concern too. I LOVE the looks of the BSS pipes from V&H, Rinehart etc, but Iâm afraid they are going to be too loud for me. I have SEII now and they seem to be about right. Yet I ride with a lot of folks that have big shots and when I do, I canât hear my own dang bike, so have been considering upping the noise level. Youâd think after playing rock ânâ roll for 35 years through loud tube amps, Iâd be deaf enough to be able to run the loudest pipes out there. But know. And I donât really think itâs the shear volume that bothers me on long trips, itâs the pitch or frequency that get to me.
Anyway, please let us know what you think about the sound level with the quiet baffles.
I like the look of the BSS pipes as well but, after hearing a friends bike with them installed on it I decided they were too loud for me. I now have the SE 16ga Double Barrel pipes and they are just about right, IMHO.
I love the sound of mine - I have the stock baffles. I ride in congested areas so I like to think the extra noise will help cagers know I'm there (the "loud pipes save lives" theory). Another big difference over the stock pipes is the FEEL of the bike with the V&H on!
I put the V&H longshots on my wifes Deluxe. They are too loud in my opinion. No quiet baffles available. Oh well, at least I ride in front most of the time.

Unfortunately, the SEs aren't available for the '07s. I would have bought those if they were.
what's the difference between the '07 and '06 that the SE pipes won't work?
if it's because you have O2 sensors, you can always have O2 bungs welded in.
it cost me $25.00 to have them welded into my SE 16Ga pipes, I'm using O2 sensors for tuning.
I have side shots, and they are loud. As far as the neighbors,I haven't had a complaint yet as Scootergrrl is the manager of our apartment bldg. I am looking fprward to getting a job wehre I start around 7am. Then those neighbors will hate me. But I like the sound, and it makes me feel safer. Took a while to get used to it, but I won't even use my ipod lest I can't hear the pipes. I have read that the quiet baffles are not that much quieter. the BSS would have been my second choice.
