Default Fatboy removeable rider backrest

Most of my riding is around town and short distance, but occasionally I might go on a longer ride and would like a removeable rider backrest on my '12 Fatboy.

I still have a Utopia backrest that was on another bike and I can get a new seat plate to work on the Fatboy, but Utopia doesn't offer a removeable option for the Fatboy. I guess I could pull the bolt and leave the exposed metal sleeve sticking slightly out of the seat. The Utopia is a really comfortable and adjustable backrest, but I'm wondering if there's another good removeable rider backrest to consider?

Thanks,
David

I have an '01 Fatboy and I'm probably going to go with the Utopia backrest. I had MCC put a gel pad and memory foam in my rider's seat and memory foam in the passenger's pillion. So, I don't want to ditch the factory seat just for the sake of a rider's backrest.

I too am a little disappointed that Utopia doesn't offer the "quick out" option for the Fatboy. I've been holding out hoping they would come up with something. But, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Hopefully, if enough folks inquire about it, they might do something.

Default Pro Tac Backrest

Take a look at this site. I have used his backrest on a couple of Heritages and they are great and easy to remove. They are made for your height.

Here is the link for the ProTac backrest.

He is only doing it part time now so you have to email him with your phone number and he will call you for your information.
